You do not have to take a fair-launch claim on faith. The whole point of an open chain is that you can confirm it. This walk-through shows how to satisfy yourself that Malairte had no premine, using publicly available tools and a little patience. None of it requires special access.

Step 1: Get the genesis block

Locate the genesis block in the node source or through a block explorer. Confirm it carries no large pre-loaded balance to founder addresses. A clean genesis is the first sign of a fair start.

Step 2: Read the early blocks

Inspect the first several hundred blocks after genesis. In a fair launch, each block pays only the standard block reward to whoever mined it. Look for any single early address receiving an unusually large balance unrelated to ordinary block rewards. Its absence is what you want to see.

Step 3: Compare circulating supply to mined blocks

Multiply the number of mined blocks by the block reward (accounting for any halvings in the schedule). The result should closely match the reported circulating supply. If circulating supply is far higher than mining alone would explain, that gap points to a premine. For Malairte, the numbers should reconcile to mined emission.

Step 4: Read the project documentation

Search the official materials for the words allocation, premine, treasury, founder reward, private sale, or ICO. A fair-launch project states plainly that none of these exist. Conflicting or vague language is a reason to dig deeper.

Step 5: Cross-check with the open source

Because Malairte is open source, the emission rules are in the code. Confirm there is no special minting path that credits coins outside of block rewards. The schedule should be the only source of new supply.

Step 6: Repeat with a second tool

Do not rely on a single explorer or node. Confirm the same facts using an independent source where possible. Agreement across independent tools is what turns a claim into a verified fact.

What a pass looks like

If the genesis is clean, the early blocks pay only standard rewards, circulating supply matches mined emission, the docs disclaim any allocation, and the code has no side-channel mint, you have verified the no-premine claim yourself. That is the standard a fair launch should meet.
