Premine
Coins created before a network opens to the public, usually credited to founders or insiders.
A premine is the creation of coins before a network is open for public mining, typically credited to founders, the team, or early backers. It can appear as a large balance in the genesis block or as a quiet period of insider-only mining before launch. Either way, a group starts with coins the public never had a chance to earn, creating a starting imbalance in ownership. A premine is treated as a red flag by fair-launch advocates because it concentrates supply and can misalign incentives. It is detectable by inspecting early blocks and reconciling circulating supply against mined emission. Malairte had no premine.
